- 2 pounds fresh strawberries hulled
- 6 to 8 cups cold water divided
- ½ to ¾ cup sugar or to taste, can substitute honey, agave, or monk fruit sweetener
- 2 to 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- Ice as needed
- Optional garnish: sliced strawberries mint leaves
Wash and hull strawberries. Cut large ones in half.
Blend strawberries with 2 cups of water until smooth (30-45 seconds).
Strain mixture through fine mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing pulp to extract juice.
Add remaining water, lime juice, and sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Taste and adjust sweetness.
Chill for at least 1 hour.
Use very ripe strawberries for the best natural sweetness.
You can replace some of the water with coconut water for a tropical twist.
Frozen strawberries work if fresh ones aren't available – thaw fully before using.
Store in the fridge up to 4 days; best consumed within 48 hours.
Try blending in mint, pineapple, or jalapeño for fun variations!
