  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Use fresh breadcrumbs for a crunchier coating
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese For topping
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese For topping
  • 1 piece egg For coating
  • to taste salt and pepper Adjust based on preference
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Preparation

  • Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Dip each chicken breast into the egg, then coat with breadcrumbs.

Cooking

  • Place the coated chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  • Cook for 10-12 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown.
  • Remove the chicken from the air fryer and top each breast with marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Return to the air fryer for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.

Notes

This dish pairs wonderfully with a side of pasta, salad, or steamed vegetables. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
