Air Fryer Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs chicken wing flats and drumettes
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarc h
  • 1.5 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon neutral high-smoke point oil

Instructions
 

  • Pat the chicken wings thoroughly dry with paper towels to remove all surface moisture.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes.
  • Toss the wings in the oil to coat, then add to the seasoning mixture and toss until evenly encapsulated.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Place wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring space between pieces for airflow.
  • Cook for 12 minutes, then use tongs to flip each wing.
  • Continue cooking for 10 to 13 minutes until the skin is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Transfer to a wire rack and rest for 2 minutes to allow the coating to set before serving.
