  • 1 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef to reduce excess fat.
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes You can use instant potatoes for a quicker option.
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup You can substitute with cream of chicken if desired.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup green beans (optional) Arrange around the edges of the dish.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.

Baking

  • In a greased baking dish, layer the ground beef mixture.
  • Spread the mashed potatoes over the top.
  • Pour the cream of mushroom soup evenly over the mashed potatoes.
  • Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top.
  • If using, arrange green beans around the edges of the dish.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Serving

  • Serve hot and enjoy your hearty dinner!

Notes

To keep leftovers fresh, let the dish cool completely. Store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze in portions for up to 2 months and reheat in the oven or microwave.
