Apple Cinnamon Bread

Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg optional

Wet Ingredients:

  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup milk dairy or non-dairy
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Filling & Apples:

  • 2 apples peeled and diced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp recommended)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon for the swirl

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9x5” loaf pan.
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, mix eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar, oil, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Fold diced apples into the wet mixture.
  • Add the dry ingredients into the wet and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • In a small bowl, mix ¼ cup sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon for the swirl.
  • Pour half the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar on top. Add remaining batter and sprinkle remaining cinnamon sugar. Swirl gently with a knife.
  • Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Cool in pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Best apples: Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Gala.
Add-ins: Try chopped nuts, raisins, or a glaze on top.
Store at room temp for 2–3 days, or freeze slices for up to 3 months.
For a vegan version: use flax eggs, plant-based milk, and oil.
