Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Mix-ins

  • 1 cup diced apples
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add milk and melted butter, mixing until well combined.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Fold in the diced apples and cinnamon.

Cooking

  • Preheat a waffle maker and grease if necessary.
  • Pour the batter into the waffle maker and cook until golden brown.
  • Once done, remove and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

These waffle donuts are best served warm. You can enjoy them plain or add a drizzle of maple syrup. Fresh fruit or whipped cream on the side makes a nice touch too. To keep leftovers fresh, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. You can also freeze them for longer storage.
