Ingredients
  

For the mozzarella sticks

  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese sticks, cut in half Use regular mozzarella sticks for best results.
  • 8 slices bacon Ensure each stick is fully covered.
  • 2 tbsp cayenne pepper Adjust according to heat preference.
  • 1 tbsp paprika For color and flavor.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder Enhances taste.
  • 1 tsp onion powder Adds depth of flavor.
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 cup sugar-free hot sauce Mix with water if needed to thin.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil For brushing the sticks.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Set aside.
  • Wrap each mozzarella stick with a slice of bacon, ensuring the cheese is fully covered. Secure the ends with toothpicks if necessary.
  • Place the bacon-wrapped mozzarella sticks on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Brush them lightly with olive oil and sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over the top.

Cooking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the cheese is melted.
  • In a small bowl, mix the sugar-free hot sauce with a little water if needed to thin it out. Drizzle this sauce over the hot mozzarella sticks before serving.

Notes

These mozzarella sticks are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven. Pair them with crunchy sides like pork rinds or fresh veggies such as cucumber slices and celery sticks. You can also prepare the sticks ahead of time and refrigerate them.
