Banana Chocolate Chip Blondie Bars

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large eg g
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup mashed overripe bananas
  • 1 1/2 cups all -purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon sal t
  • 1 cup semi -sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8 inch square baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until well combined.
  • Stir in the mashed bananas until evenly distributed.
  • Gently fold in the flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined.
  • Stir in 3/4 cup of the chocolate chips.
  • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan and sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of chocolate chips on top.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool completely in the pan before cutting into 16 squares.
