Ingredients
  

  • 2 medium bananas ripe with brown spots
  • Juice from 1 medium lemon about 2-3 tablespoons
  • 1- inch piece fresh ginger root peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup liquid base almond milk, oat milk, coconut water, or regular milk
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup optional

Optional boosters:

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 scoop plain or vanilla protein powder
  • 1 small handful of spinach

Instructions
 

  • Prep ingredients: Peel and break bananas into chunks. Peel and chop ginger. Squeeze lemon juice and remove any seeds.
  • Load blender: Add liquid first, followed by bananas, lemon juice, ginger, and any optional ingredients. Top with ice.
  • Blend: Start on low speed, then gradually increase to high for about 30-45 seconds until smooth.
  • Taste and adjust: Add more banana or honey if too tart, or more ginger/lemon if desired.
  • Serve immediately: Enjoy fresh, or store in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Shake well before drinking.

Notes

Use frozen bananas for a creamier texture.
Adjust ginger to taste; start with less if new to it.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 24 hours.
For meal prep, freeze banana chunks, lemon juice in ice cubes, and grated ginger in advance.
