- 1 peppermint tea bag or chamomile as an alternative
- 1- inch fresh ginger root thinly sliced (or 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 cup filtered water
Optional Add-ins:
- Pinch of monk fruit sweetener for sweetness
- 1 thin slice of lemon for freshness and vitamin C boost
- Tiny pinch of black pepper to activate turmeric
Heat 1 cup of filtered water in a small pot until just before boiling (around 175°F).
Slice the fresh ginger thinly to maximize flavor release.
Add the ginger slices and turmeric powder to the hot water and simmer for 2 minutes.
Remove from heat and add the peppermint tea bag.
Cover and steep for 5-7 minutes for maximum flavor and benefits.
Strain the tea through a fine mesh strainer into a mug.
Add any optional ingredients, such as monk fruit sweetener, lemon slice, or black pepper.
Let the tea cool slightly before drinking to avoid discomfort post-surgery.
Enjoy warm or refrigerate for up to 3 days for a cold version.
Avoid black tea, as caffeine can be too harsh post-op.
Chamomile can be used instead of peppermint for a calming effect.
Fresh turmeric can replace ground turmeric for even more healing benefits.
This tea can be prepped in batches and stored in glass containers.
