Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef for less fat.
  • 12 oz cheese-filled tortellini (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce Store-bought or homemade.
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese For topping.
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese For added flavor.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil For sautéing.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and spray a baking dish with nonstick spray.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté onions until translucent.
  • Add garlic and ground beef; cook until browned.

Cooking

  • Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Cook tortellini according to package directions until al dente; drain.
  • Combine cooked tortellini with the meat mixture until well-coated.
  • Transfer to the baking dish, top with mozzarella cheese, and bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Notes

Serve with a light salad or steamed vegetables for balance. Can be frozen for up to 2 months.
