Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt Use plain Greek yogurt for best results.
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk (or kefir) Can substitute with milk if necessary.
  • 1 egg lightly beaten (optional, for egg wash) Brush on bagels for a golden color.

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour All-purpose flour recommended.
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Fruit

  • 1 cup blueberries Use fresh blueberries for best flavor.

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt and buttermilk.
  • Sift in flour, baking powder, and salt; mix until a dough forms. Adjust with more buttermilk or flour as needed.
  • Gently fold in the blueberries.
  • Divide the dough into 5-6 balls and poke a hole in the center of each to shape them into bagels.
  • Brush the tops with egg wash if desired.

Baking

  • Bake the bagels for 20-25 minutes, then broil for an additional 2 minutes until golden, watching carefully.
  • Allow to cool before slicing.

Notes

Store the bagels in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Freeze for longer storage. Reheat in the oven or toaster for best results.
