Ingredients
  

For the rolls

  • 1 batch sweet roll dough (homemade or store-bought)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Ensure cream cheese is softened to avoid lumps.
  • cup sugar For the cream cheese filling.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup blueberry pie filling (or homemade compote) You can substitute with raspberry or cherry filling.

For the icing

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp milk Adjust according to desired consistency.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Roll dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface.
  • In a bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough.
  • Gently spoon and spread blueberry filling over the cream cheese layer.
  • Roll dough tightly from the long edge and cut into 12 even rolls.
  • Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise until puffy.

Baking

  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown.
  • While rolls cool slightly, whisk powdered sugar and milk into a smooth icing.
  • Drizzle icing over warm rolls before serving.

Notes

These rolls shine on their own, but can also be served with fresh fruit, a side of whipped cream, or a hot drink. Best enjoyed warm.
