Ingredients
  

For the Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • ½ cup sugar more or less to taste
  • 1 cup water for simple syrup

For the Lemonade

  • 4-5 lemons Juice of about ¾ cup juice
  • 4 cups water for lemonade
  • Mint, lemon peels and slices, blueberries for garnish optional

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Peel and juice 4-5 lemons.
  • To make the sugar syrup, add half of the lemon peels, blueberries, sugar, and 1 cup of water into a saucepan.
  • Heat until the sugar dissolves and the blueberries begin to pop, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let it sit for a few minutes to cool down.
  • Using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth, strain out the berries and lemon peel from the simple syrup.

Mixing

  • Add the blueberry simple syrup to a large pitcher and stir in 4 cups of cold water.
  • Chill in the fridge.

Serving

  • When chilled, pour over ice and add optional garnishes if desired. Enjoy!

Notes

This blueberry lemonade is perfect for summer barbecues or casual family gatherings. Serve it in tall glasses with ice and garnish for a fun touch. It lasts 3-5 days in the fridge when stored properly.
