Ingredients
  

Pastry Ingredients

  • 1 package puff pastry sheets Thawed
  • 1 egg for egg wash Beaten
  • Powdered sugar for dusting Optional, for serving

Cheese Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese Softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into squares.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Assembly

  • Place a spoonful of the cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  • Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to form a triangle or a pocket.
  • Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.

Baking

  • Place the pastries on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until they are golden brown.
  • Allow to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

These pastries can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. They can also be frozen before baking. To reheat, place in a preheated oven at 350°F for 5-10 minutes.
