Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure butter is softened, but not melted.
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed Can use light or dark brown sugar based on preference.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour blend.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, beating until well combined.

Baking

  • Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 5-7 days. For longer storage, freeze cookies wrapped in plastic wrap in a freezer bag for up to three months.
