Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure butter is at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually blend into the creamed mixture.
  • Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are nicely golden.
  • Let cool on wire racks before serving.

Notes

These cookies are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature. For longer storage, freeze them for up to three months. Make sure to space the cookie dough balls evenly on the baking sheet for even baking.
