Crust Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Use room temperature butter for best results.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

Filling Ingredients

  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce Store-bought or homemade.
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts Optional for added crunch.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
  • In a medium bowl, combine flour, butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Mix until crumbly.
  • Stir in oats and brown sugar until well combined.

Assembly

  • Press half of the mixture into the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
  • Pour the salted caramel sauce over the crust.
  • Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture on top of the caramel, pressing down slightly.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. For freezing, wrap tightly and store for up to two months.
