For the Cheesy Filling:
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese low moisture, cubed or shredded
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp cream cheese softened
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
For the Coating:
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- Pinch of salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tbsp water
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup regular breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Vegetable oil for frying (canola or peanut oil recommended)
Step 1: Prep the Cheese Mixture
In a bowl, mix mozzarella, Parmesan, and cream cheese.
Add garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
Chill mixture in fridge for 15–20 minutes.
Step 3: Bread the Bites
Set up 3 bowls:
Bowl 1: flour + pinch of salt
Bowl 2: beaten eggs + water
Bowl 3: panko, regular breadcrumbs, Parmesan, Italian seasoning
Coat each ball in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.
For extra crunch, double coat with egg and breadcrumbs again.
Step 5: Baking Option
Preheat oven to 425°F.
Place breaded bites on greased baking sheet.
Lightly spray with oil and bake for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway.
Freeze before frying to avoid explosions.
Customize with jalapeños, herbs, or even mini pepperoni.
Can be made ahead and frozen for up to 3 months.
Use an air fryer at 390°F for 6–8 minutes as a healthier option.
