  • 1 cup sliced ham You can swap the ham for turkey or bacon.
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded Try using different types of cheese, such as cheddar or mozzarella.
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup You can substitute with a mix of sour cream or yogurt and chicken broth.
  • 1/2 cup milk For a creamier texture, add a bit more milk.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Combine with melted butter for topping.
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter Essential for crispy breadcrumbs.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, sliced ham, Swiss cheese, cream of chicken soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until combined.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and melted butter, then sprinkle over the top of the chicken mixture.

Baking

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the casserole is bubbly and the breadcrumbs are golden brown.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

This casserole is delicious on its own, but can be served with a fresh green salad or steamed vegetables. Pairs well with crusty bread. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
