Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb fresh green beans trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons canola or avocado oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds

Instructions
 

  • Blanch the Green Beans: Boil a large pot of water, then add the fresh green beans and blanch for 2 minutes. Transfer to an ice bath immediately to stop the cooking.
  • Stir-Fry: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Once the oil shimmers, add the blanched green beans and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until slightly charred.
  • Add Garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for another minute, being careful not to burn it.
  • Prepare the Sauce: While stir-frying, mix vegetable broth and soy sauce in a bowl. Pour this sauce into the pan with the green beans and cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beans evenly.
  • Serve: Season with salt, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes and toasted sesame seeds. Serve hot.
