  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can be replaced with whole wheat flour for a nutritious twist.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Experiment with different types of chocolate chips for a unique taste.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  • Stir in melted butter, then mix in the vanilla extract and sugar.
  • Add the egg, baking soda, and salt, mixing well.
  • Gradually add the flour, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool before slicing into bars.

Notes

These bars are delightful on their own but can be served with ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days, or refrigerate for about a week.
