Ingredients
  

For the banana bread

  • 3 pieces ripe bananas Make sure bananas are really ripe for the best flavor.
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Ensure the baking soda is fresh.
  • Pinch of salt salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar You can increase sugar for a sweeter loaf.
  • 1 large egg beaten egg Beaten egg for moistness.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour You can substitute some with whole wheat flour for a healthier option.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Mini chocolate chips can be used for a more distributed chocolate flavor.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Stir in the melted butter.
  • Mix in the baking soda and salt.
  • Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  • Add the flour and mix until just incorporated.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into a greased 4×8 inch loaf pan.

Baking

  • Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the bread cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

This banana bread is delicious on its own but can be served with butter or cinnamon. To keep fresh, wrap tightly in plastic wrap at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2-3 months.
