Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature Ensure butter is at room temperature for best results.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Add-ins

  • 2 cups chocolate chips Use semisweet or any preferred chocolate.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a small bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth.
  • Beat in the vanilla and eggs until well combined.
  • Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  • Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

To keep your cookies fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature. Chill the dough for thicker cookies and feel free to experiment with nuts or different types of chocolate.
