  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Use soft butter for easier mixing and a creamier texture.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs Use an egg substitute if needed.
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Add-ins

  • 1 cup chocolate chips Substitute with white chocolate or butterscotch for variations.
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped Frozen strawberries can be used if thawed and drained.
  • Sprinkles (optional) Use colored sprinkles for decoration.

Baking Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla.
  • In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped strawberries.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • If desired, melt additional chocolate and drizzle over the cookies before adding sprinkles for decoration.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze for later use. Use soft butter for easier mixing and a creamier texture. Don’t overmix the dough.
