Ingredients
  

  • ¼ cup white granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon optional

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Whisk until well blended.
  • Gradually add the milk while whisking constantly to prevent lumps.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring often, for 5-7 minutes, until the gravy thickens.
  • Once thickened, remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Serve immediately over warm biscuits, pancakes, or waffles.
