  • 1 cup Butter
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 cups Chocolate chips

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer.

Caramel mixture

  • In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar together, stirring until combined.
  • Bring to a boil and let cook for 3 minutes without stirring.

Assembly and Baking

  • Pour the caramel mixture over the saltine crackers, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for 5-7 minutes in the oven until bubbly.
  • Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  • Let sit for a few minutes until the chocolate melts, then spread it across the surface.
  • Add any optional toppings if desired.
  • Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for several days or freeze for longer storage. For variations, try using pretzels instead of saltine crackers or adding different toppings.
