  • 1 sheet puff pastry Thawed if frozen
  • 8 ounces brie cheese Cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce Can be homemade or store-bought
  • 1 large egg For egg wash
  • to taste fresh thyme For garnish, optional

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut it into squares.
  • Place a small piece of brie cheese in the center of each square.
  • Top the cheese with a spoonful of cranberry sauce.
  • Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to create a bite-sized pouch.
  • Brush the pastry with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  • Place the bites on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Baking

  • Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh thyme if desired.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Ensure to seal the pastry corners well to prevent the filling from leaking out. For richer flavor, let the brie sit at room temperature prior to using. You can add chopped nuts for a crunchy texture.
