Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Place the bacon slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15–20 minutes or until crispy, then remove and drain on paper towels.

Mixing the cheese mixture

  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped chives. Mix until well blended and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Assembling the bagels

  • Toast the bagel halves until golden and crisp.
  • Spread a generous amount of the cheese mixture on each toasted bagel half.
  • Break the bacon slices into halves or thirds and place them evenly on top of the cheese spread.

Finishing Touch

  • Optional: Return the assembled bagels to the oven for about 5 minutes to warm them up and slightly melt the cheese.
