For the shrimp

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined Ensure they are fresh or thawed if previously frozen.
  • 2 tablespoons butter Unsalted is preferred.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Freshly minced for best flavor.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can substitute with half-and-half.
  • 1 teaspoon dried herbs Such as thyme, rosemary, and parsley.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust according to preference.
  • optional Chopped fresh herbs for garnish For added freshness.

Preparation

  • Cook the rice according to package instructions.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add the garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until pink and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Reduce the heat and pour in the heavy cream, stirring in the dried herbs. Let it simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Serve the garlic butter shrimp over the fluffy rice and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

This dish can be served alone or with a fresh side salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge or freeze for up to 2 months.
