  • 8 oz fettuccine pasta
  • 1 lb Italian sausage Cooked until browned
  • 2 cups heavy cream Can substitute with half-and-half for a lighter option
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese Add more for extra richness
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil For sautéing
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Garnish

  • to taste Fresh herbs (basil or parsley) For garnish

Preparation

  • Cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook until browned.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce and toss to coat.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For freezing, place pasta in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months. Reheat gently on the stove, adding a splash of cream to restore texture.
