Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.

Pour the Midori, vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup into the shaker.

Shake vigorously for approximately 15 seconds until the shaker is well-chilled.

Strain the liquid into a chilled martini or coupe glass.

Drop one maraschino cherry into the bottom of the glass as a garnish.
