Dolly’s Chicken and Stuffing Casserole

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 box (12 oz) herb-seasoned stuffing mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the stuffing mix with the melted butter, tossing until the crumbs are evenly coated.
  • Spread half of the buttered stuffing mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish in an even layer.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the condensed cream of chicken soup, sour cream, chicken broth, and black pepper until smooth.
  • Stir the shredded chicken into the soup mixture until thoroughly combined.
  • Pour the chicken mixture over the stuffing layer in the baking dish, spreading it to the edges.
  • Sprinkle the remaining stuffing mix evenly over the top of the chicken layer.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until the stuffing is golden brown and the sauce is bubbling at the edges.
