Equipment

  • Food processor
  • Mixing bowl
  • tablespoon or scoop

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups dried figs (Mission or Calimyrna)
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (almonds and walnuts recommended)
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds or flax seeds
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • optional coatings: coconut flakes, cocoa powder, or sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Measure and prepare all ingredients. If figs are very dry, soak briefly in warm water.
  • In a food processor, pulse nuts and seeds until coarse and crumbly.
  • Add figs, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt. Process until mixture forms a sticky dough.
  • Scoop with a tablespoon, roll into balls, and coat in coconut, cocoa, or sesame if desired. Chill 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

For very dry figs, soak briefly in warm water. If the mixture is too sticky, add oats, coconut flakes, or extra nuts. You can customize flavors with cocoa, citrus zest, or spices. Store in the fridge up to 2 weeks or freeze for 3 months.
