Ingredients

For the bake

  • 2 pieces juicy steaks (ribeye or sirloin) Choose your preferred cut of steak.
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced Use your favorite type of potatoes.
  • 4 tablespoons garlic butter Store-bought or homemade garlic butter works.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Can substitute with other cheeses if desired.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust seasoning according to preference.
  • for garnish Fresh parsley Optional, for added flavor and color.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a skillet, sear the steaks until browned on both sides and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and let rest.

Cooking

  • In the same skillet, add garlic butter and sliced potatoes. Sauté until the potatoes are tender.
  • In a baking dish, layer the sautéed potatoes, seared steaks, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden.
  • Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve.

Notes

Use a meat thermometer to check steak doneness (130°F for medium-rare). Let the steak rest after cooking to keep it juicy. Feel free to mix in vegetables like broccoli or bell peppers for added nutrition. If potatoes are browning too quickly, cover the dish with foil while baking. Adjust seasoning to your taste; garlic powder and paprika add nice flavors!
