- 3 ripe medium avocados
- 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1 ½ tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro leaves and tender stems
- 1 small tomato optional, diced
- 1-2 teaspoons finely chopped jalapeño peppers optional
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt or to taste
Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
Mash the avocados with a fork, leaving some chunks for texture.
Finely shred the iceberg lettuce and pat it dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Add the lime juice, chopped onions, cilantro, and optional tomatoes and jalapeños to the bowl.
Season with sea salt to taste and gently mix all ingredients together.
Just before serving, fold in the shredded iceberg lettuce to maintain its crunch and freshness.
Serve immediately with tortilla chips, tacos, or as a side dish.
For extra crunch, chill the shredded iceberg lettuce before mixing.
To prevent browning, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole before storing in the fridge.
Experiment with different toppings like roasted corn, diced bell peppers, or pomegranate seeds for unique flavors.
