Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup crushed pineapple
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/8 cup ketchup
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons hot water

Instructions
 

Mix Base Ingredients

  • In a saucepan, combine pineapple juice, crushed pineapple, and light brown sugar. Stir well to dissolve the sugar.

Add Seasonings

  • Add onion powder, soy sauce, ketchup, and cayenne pepper to the mixture. Stir until well blended.

Thicken the Sauce

  • In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with hot water to create a slurry. Add this slurry to the saucepan and stir until the sauce thickens.

Simmer

  • Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Let it cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the flavors meld together.

Cool & Store

  • Once cooked, let the sauce cool down. Transfer it to an airtight container and refrigerate. It will keep fresh for 1-2 weeks.
