  • 1 cup hazelnuts Finely chopped
  • 1 cup dates, pitted Use fresh dates for best flavor
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup protein powder (optional)
  • 1/4 cup almond butter or any nut butter Can replace with different nut butters
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a food processor, blend hazelnuts until finely chopped.
  • Add dates, cocoa powder, protein powder, almond butter, vanilla extract, and sea salt.
  • Process until the mixture is well combined and sticky.
  • Line a baking dish with parchment paper and press the mixture evenly into the dish.
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until firm.
  • Cut into bars and enjoy!

Notes

Store bars in an airtight container in the fridge; lasts up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them and thaw when ready to eat. To avoid sticky hands, wet your fingers when pressing the mixture into the dish.
