Honey Cinnamon Roasted Pears

Ingredients
  

  • 4 ripe Bosc or Anjou pears
  • 3 tablespoons wildflower honey
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 0.25 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch fine sea salt
  • 0.25 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
  • Wash the pears, slice them in half lengthwise, and remove the cores using a melon baller or small spoon.
  • In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and sea salt until fully emulsified.
  • Place the pear halves cut-side up in a single layer in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Brush the honey cinnamon mixture evenly over the exposed flesh of each pear half.
  • Roast in the center of the oven for 20 to 25 minutes until the fruit is tender and the glaze is bubbling.
  • Top with chopped walnuts during the last 5 minutes of roasting for a toasted finish.
  • Remove from the oven and baste the pears with the residual glaze from the bottom of the dish before serving warm.
