Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Blender
  • Large pitcher
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

For the Base Tea:

  • 6 cups filtered water
  • 4 green tea bags
  • 1/2 cup honey or agave for vegan version
  • 1 medium honeydew melon 5–6 cups cubed
  • 1 large bunch fresh mint 20–30g

Optional Add-ins:

  • 1 lime sliced
  • Ice cubes
  • Extra honeydew chunks for garnish
  • Mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

Brew the Tea Base:

  • Bring 4 cups of water to 175°F (just below boiling). Remove from heat and steep green tea bags for 3–4 minutes. Remove bags without squeezing. Stir in honey until dissolved.

Prepare the Honeydew:

  • Cut the honeydew in half, remove seeds, and cube. Set aside a few chunks for garnish.

Create Mint Infusion:

  • Wash mint, reserving some for garnish. Tear the rest and add to blender with honeydew and 1 cup cold water.

Blend and Combine:

  • Blend until smooth (30–45 seconds). Strain through mesh strainer into tea. Press pulp to extract all liquid. Add remaining 2 cups cold water. Stir.

Chill and Serve:

  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Serve over ice with mint and melon chunks. Enjoy within 24 hours for best flavor.

Notes

Use ripe honeydew for optimal sweetness and flavor.
To reduce sweetness, decrease honey to 2–3 tbsp.
Substitute cantaloupe or pineapple for fun flavor variations.
Tea keeps for up to 3 days but is best fresh.
Leftover pulp? Use it in smoothies, yogurt, or freeze for later!
