Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender Ensure it's culinary grade.

Wet Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two round cake pans.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until fluffy.
  • Add in the honey and mix well.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the milk.

Mixing Dry Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and lavender.

Combining Ingredients

  • Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let the cakes cool before removing from the pans.

Notes

You may dust with powdered sugar for serving or top with whipped cream and fresh berries. Store in an airtight container. Can be frozen for longer storage.
