Ingredients
  

For the Brownie Base:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp lemon zest
  • ½ tsp salt

For the Lemon Glaze:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 2 –3 tbsp milk adjust for desired consistency

Instructions
 

Prep Your Pan:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13 inch pan with parchment paper and lightly grease.

Make the Brownie Base:

  • Melt butter in a large bowl. Stir in sugar until combined. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla. Mix until smooth and glossy.

Add Dry Ingredients:

  • In a separate bowl, combine flour and salt. Add to the wet mixture with lemon juice and zest. Stir until just combined.

Bake:

  • Spread batter evenly into prepared pan. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until edges are set and center springs back when lightly touched.

Prepare the Glaze:

  • While bars cool, whisk together powdered sugar, lemon juice, zest, and milk until smooth. Add milk gradually for desired consistency.

Glaze and Set:

  • Pour glaze over completely cooled bars. Let set for 30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Use only fresh lemon juice and zest for the brightest flavor.
Bars store well at room temp for 4 days, or refrigerated for 1 week.
Optional mix-ins: blueberries, coconut, or swirl in cream cheese.
Freeze unglazed bars up to 3 months.
