Ingredients
  

For the marinade

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the main dish

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Rice for serving
  • Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix honey, lemon juice, soy sauce, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Marinate the chicken in the mixture for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat a skillet over medium heat.

Cooking

  • Cook the marinated chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, until fully cooked.
  • Remove from the pan and let rest for a few minutes.
  • Serve over rice and drizzle with remaining glaze. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

Marinate longer for more flavor, up to 2 hours if time allows. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness; chicken should reach 165°F. For a thicker glaze, reduce the marinade in your pan after cooking the chicken. If you like a bit of spice, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade. Substitute chicken thighs for a richer flavor if preferred. You can use lime juice instead of lemon for a zesty twist.
