  • 1 pound crab meat Use fresh crab meat for the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Gluten-free breadcrumbs can be used for gluten-free diets.
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper Add a splash of hot sauce for extra spice.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine crab meat, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, bell peppers, green onions, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix gently to combine, being careful not to break up the crab meat too much.
  • Form the mixture into patties.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Fry the crab cakes for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.

Notes

These crab cakes are delicious on their own or served with a tangy dipping sauce. Pair with a fresh salad or some crispy fries for a complete meal.
