  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Use gluten-free flour for a gluten-free version.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix-Ins

  • 1 cup chocolate chips Experiment with different types like dark chocolate or peanut butter chips.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix the peanut butter, butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy.
  • Add in the eggs and vanilla, and mix until well combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.

Baking

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool before cutting into bars and serving.

Notes

These bars pair nicely with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a glass of milk, or tea. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze for longer storage.
