Ingredients
  

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) red velvet cake mix
  • 3 large egg s
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup wate r
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • Prepare and bake the red velvet cake mix according to package directions using the eggs, oil, and water.
  • Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes.
  • Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes across the entire surface of the cake at 1-inch intervals.
  • Pour the sweetened condensed milk slowly over the cake, allowing it to soak into the holes.
  • In a medium bowl, cream together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  • Gradually beat in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until the frosting is light and fluffy.
  • Spread the frosting evenly over the surface of the cake.
  • Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours to allow the filling to set before serving.
