  • 1 pound Mushrooms Any variety such as cremini, shiitake, or button mushrooms.
  • 4 tablespoons Butter Can be substituted with olive oil for a dairy-free version.
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh thyme, chopped Dried thyme can be used as a substitute.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Clean and slice the mushrooms.
  • Melt butter in a pan over medium heat until it turns golden brown.
  • Add minced garlic and fresh thyme; cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Toss mushrooms in the browned butter mixture along with salt and pepper.
  • Spread mushrooms on a baking sheet in a single layer.

Cooking

  • Roast in the oven for 15-20 minutes until they are tender and slightly caramelized.
  • Serve warm.

Notes

These mushrooms are great on their own or as a side dish. Pair well with grilled meats or pasta. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge, or freeze for up to 2 months.
