Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch fine sea salt
  • Whipped cream for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the whole milk, cocoa powder, and salted caramel sauce.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and whisk continuously until the cocoa powder is fully incorporated and the mixture is steaming, but not boiling.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract and sea salt.
  • Pour the hot chocolate into two mugs.
  • Top with whipped cream and an additional drizzle of caramel sauce if desired.
