Ingredients
  

  • 450 g pork sausage meat
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ground sage
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp fresh herbs, chopped (parsley or chives)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). In a bowl, combine sausage meat with breadcrumbs, garlic, nutmeg, sage, salt, and pepper. Mix until evenly blended.
  • On a clean surface, cut puff pastry into strips. Place sausage filling along one side of each strip. Roll up tightly, sealing edges with egg wash. Cut into desired sizes.
  • Place rolls on a lined baking sheet. Brush tops with remaining egg wash. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown and pastry is cooked through. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

You can prepare these sausage rolls up to 24 hours ahead and bake when ready. They also freeze well for up to 3 months. For a Moroccan-inspired twist, try adding cumin or smoked paprika. Serve with ketchup, mustard, or brown sauce.
