Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk and softened butter. Mix until smooth.
  • Add peppermint extract and mix well.
  • Gradually mix in powdered sugar until a dough forms.
  • Divide the dough into portions and add food coloring as desired.
  • Roll the dough into small balls or shape into disks.
  • If using, coat with granulated sugar for a festive sparkle.
  • Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Let the mints dry for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 2 months. Let thaw in the fridge before enjoying. Roll smaller for bite-sized treats.
